I left my family (husband and two children ages 13 and 6) for eight days. I thought this was going to be the hardest eight days of my life. I traveled with 7 other nurses and 2 surgeons to Guatemala to do a medical mission with Healing the Children. I have to admit it was the BEST experience of my life.

Our Mission: To transform unwanted and discontinued fabric into quilts that comfort children in need.
Our Goal: To link design centers and fabric manufacturers globally with quilting chapters in their own communities, so that children in need will be served within their own region.
Our Progress: 50 chapters in 29 states plus the Carribbean. Over a MILLION pounds of fabric saved from landfills. Tens of thousands of sick and abused children have been gifted quilts and other items crafted of this fabric.
