Christopher Botti or Chris Botti (born October 12, 1962) is a trumpeter and composer; born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Corvallis, and spent two years of his childhood growing up in Italy. His earliest musical influence was his mother, a classically trained pianist and part-time piano teacher.
He preferred his given name pronounced as Louie'. "Its like Louis Armstrong - he spelled his name Louis, but he liked it to be said as Louie", recalls Louie Bellson Armstrong was registered as "Lewie" for the 1920 U.S. Census. On various live records he's called as "Louie" on stage, such as on the 1952 "Can Anyone Explain?"
Chesney Henry "Chet" Baker Jr. (December 23, 1929 - May 13, 1988) was an American jazz trumpeter and singer.
Specializing in relaxed, even melancholy music, Baker rose to prominence as a leading name in cool jazz in the 1950s. Baker's good looks and delicate singing established him as a promising name in pop music as well.
