Guru Nanak i sthe first Guru and founder of the Sikh Religion. He was an enlightened man that taught about equality of all humans and religion and the belief of the one true God.
Guru Gobind Singh was the 10th and last living Guru of the Sikh religion. Guru Gobind Singh started the Khalsa (body of baptised Sikhs) and is responsible for the unique image of a Sikh in the modern day.There were only few individuals who could be of more inspiring personality than Guru Gobind Singh. Guru Gobind Singh Ji infused the spirit of both sainthood and soldier in the minds and hearts of his followers to fight oppression in order to restore justice, peace, righteousness (Dharma) and to uplift the down-trodden people in this world.
Guru Angad Dev is the second Guru of the Sikh religion and was appointed by Guru Nanak Sahib himself. He followed the teachings of his Guru whole-heartedly and through this he was loved, respected and was able to grow the Sikh religion in numbers and strength.
During his 25 years as Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Arjan Dev created the City of Amritsar and the Golden Temple, the holiest temple for the Sikhs. He also complied the Guru Granth Sahib which is now considered the living Guru of the Sikhs. Learn more about the great Guru on this lens.
