With a strong affinity towards reptiles of all kinds, I tend to have a good deal to say and share about their care. There are so many different reptiles that one can keep as pets, and each one of them deserves the proper care and loving attention. So before bringing home a reptile of any kind, shape, or form, you will want to do as much research as possible, to ensure the longevity of the reptile.

goReptiles is a small hobby business with guess what... Reptiles... They work with small groups of leopard geckos, Arican fat tail geckos, and crested geckos. They have plans to add ball pythons and gargoyle geckos to their projects.

Leopard geckos are naturally found in Iran, Afghanistan, Western India and Pakistan, residing in deserts and arid grasslands. They like the dry and rocky landscapes, and because they are nocturnal animals, they spend the day beneath rocks and in burrows. Leopard geckos are terrestrial animals, spending much of their time on the ground; they rarely climb, and when they do, they can become clumsy.India sent leopard geckos to the United States from 1960- 1973 for legal protection; this is where the first high-yellow-phase banded bloodlines came from. Pakistan began exporting their leopard geckos worldwide later on; many captive-bred leopard geckos are the descendants from Pakistan ancestors.In the wild, leopard geckos tend to appear in one standard yellow color with black spots. It is thought that this is to help camoflage them from predators. Also, their bumpy skin helps to blend them into their surroundings, once again another camouflage they have to protect them from predators. But, in captivity, leopard geckos have developed into many different morphs (colors and patterns); many of which have developed from genes in wild caught leopard geckos.

Breeding leopard geckos is relatively easy once you have the male and female geckos. If you decide to breed leopard geckos, do not house the male and female together; this can cause stress on the female....

Leopard geckos make great pets. Why? Because they're small, docile, and come in a TON of colors and patterns- I.E. morphs. You can pick and choose your favorites, whether it be a bright Super Hypo Tangerine...
