This is all about Revolutionary War Uniforms and Flags. There are also some cool Revolutionary items I have found on this lens. I made a revolutionary war uniform once. It was all wool including the lining. Wow what a job! It was made from an original pattern. I wish I still had that pattern!

Classic vintage synths from the 1970s and 1980s are known for their warm and other-worldly sounds created with analog circuitry, rows of buttons and sliders, nests of patch cords, blinking lights and wooden side pannels completing their retro sci fi appearance. Many modern digital synths attempt to emulate vintage synthesizer sounds with microchip powered digital signal processors, complicated mathematical models and cheap plastic cases but just like the relationship of vinyl to cd, nothing compares to the magic of a real analog synth. Rather then crunching numbers into finite units, analog synths create their sound by shaping electronic waveforms with sold state components like transistors, capacitors and resistors in a continuous signal path. This lens examines the coolest analog synths, what to look for in buying a vintage analog and the best used synths to watch out for from the most popular analog synthesizer manufacturers such as Roland, Moog and Korg.

Kit is one of the Historical Characters from American Girl. The doll of 1934. I was very excited when my daughter chose this doll because my grandmother grew up during the 1930s and I would be able to get a sense of what it was like for her as a child while reading Kit’s stories. It makes it even more interesting for me. Margaret Mildred Kittredge is a little girl living in Cincinnati, Ohio in the early 1930s. She goes by the name Kitt, which while also short for Kittredge really came from a song that her father used to sing to her. Her story, told through a series of six books, begins in the Summer of 1932 when she was 9 years old. This was three years into the Great Depression when unemployment was at it’s peak. Kit’s father looses his job and she does all she can to help the family. The series continues through 1933 when Kit celebrates her 10th birthday and ends in the Winter of 1934. Kit debuted in 2000 as the seventh historical doll in the American Girl collection. She, like all of these dolls is 18” tall and was the first doll in the series to have short hair and freckles. The shorter hair makes this a perfect doll to start a young child with since it’s easier to take care of. She comes dressed in a lilac sweater set and floral linen skirt, with white sandals and a green barette.

Wong Fei Hung is the most portrayed character in movie history. He was a martial artist, a master of Hung Ga (a style which according to legend was named after Hung Hei-Gun during the time of the Qing Dynasty). He choreographed the famous Tiger Crane Paired Form Fist, which incorporates his "Ten Special Fist" techniques and he was also famous for a technique known as the "No Shadow Kick. Wong Fei Hung has been portrayed in movies by such famous people as Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Jet Li and Kwan Tak Hing who made so many Wong Fei Hung films that he was nicknamed "Master Hung". Kwan Tak Hing portrayed Wong Fei Hung in over 75 films - Wikipedia can't make its mind up of how many Wong Fei Hung films there were in this series, so far i found two different numbers 77 and 99. The reason for this is that many of the films Kwan Tak Hing made have disappeared or deterioted beyond use.

Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show 'Wells Fargo Deadwood Stage' event featured John Y Nelson sporting a pair of engraved Colt Peacemakers. This article contains the story of how these guns came to England where they were photographed. There are many stories on the Internet about Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show but none (that I have found) tell about John Y Nelson and his superb pair of engraved Colt Peacemakers, up until now that is.
