1. Dalmatians
When I was in the fourth grade, my grandmother decided it was time to get another dog. My aunt's coworker just had a littler of dalmatian puppies. So, my mother went with her. Now, I already had a male mix breed dog, at the time; he was, not neutered, so bringing home a female dog was out of the question. But, anyway, my mother went with my grandmother, not expecting that there was only two pups left- two males. One looked like the father- a broad built dalmatian with a thicker coat, and the other looked like the mother- a standard thin built dalmatian with a thinner coat. Well, my grandmother chose the thicker built puppy, loaded with spots, even at a young age. My mother broke down and brought home the thinner, solid white puppy.We went through name after name, until my father spurt out 'Zabu.' To this day, no one knows where he came up with it, not even him. But it stuck, and after a few weeks of getting it wrong, we eventually starting saying it right. Zabu is the typical dalmatian, high energy and high strung. But as sweet as he can be.

It is thought that this is to help camoflage them from predators. Also, their bumpy skin helps to blend them into their surroundings, once again another camouflage they have to protect them from predators. But, in captivity, leopard geckos have developed into many different morphs (colors and patterns); many of which have developed from genes in wild caught leopard geckos.
